About this policy

Elusive Beauty is based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. This policy applies to elusivebeauty.ca, our online store, our education and training programs, our studio services, and our communications with you. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we share it with

We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need. These include:

• Our e-commerce platform (Shopify), which hosts our store and processes orders
• Payment processors and buy-now-pay-later providers
• Shipping carriers such as Canada Post
• Booking, email, chat and course-delivery tools
• Analytics and advertising tools that help us understand our website and reach people interested in our products and education

We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it. We choose providers that use appropriate safeguards to protect it.

Keeping it safe and how long we keep it

We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information from loss, theft and unauthorized access. Access is limited to people who need it to serve you.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax records or certification records. After that, we securely delete or destroy it.

Emails and cookies

We send marketing emails, such as our newsletter, only if you've agreed to receive them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We'll still send messages about your orders, courses or appointments.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Turning off some cookies may affect how parts of our website work, such as your cart.

Your choices and rights

You can:

• Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Withdraw your consent to certain uses, such as marketing
• Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it

Children's privacy

Our website, products and education are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority without the consent of a parent or guardian.
